Contact Steps

Step 1:

First, we are so glad you are here and considering working with us. Please use the contact form below to schedule your first therapy appointment.  Feel free to briefly include what you are seeking help with. We will respond within 48 hours but we typically respond within a few hours!

Thank you for contacting us.

You will receive an email confirmation shortly.

Step 2:

Once you contact us, we will reach out within 24-48 hours to schedule an initial appointment.  If you are seeking intensive EMDR therapy with Erica Wilcox, LPC,  Erica will schedule an initial 45 minute phone consultation (not therapy) to explore if EMDR is appropriate. Whether it is a first therapy appointment or a phone consultation for EMDR therapy, you will receive some paperwork to your email through our secure portal to please complete at least 48 hours prior to your first appointment or consultation. Completing the paperwork confirms your appointment. We are unable to honor the appointment or consultation call if the paperwork is not complete.

Step 3:

During your first appointment or phone consultation, you and the therapist will briefly talk about what you would like to work on and how they can possibly help. You will be able to ask any preliminary questions that you may have as well. If it mutually feels like a right “match”  to work together, you and your therapist will schedule additional sessions at a mutually agreed upon time.

FAQ for New Clients

What Can I Expect During My First Therapy Appointment?

During your first therapy appointment, your therapist will talk with you in more detail about what motivated you to start therapy and ask questions about your experiences in the past, present, and hopes for the future. This is a time when you and your therapist start to build the trust and connection that is needed in order for therapy to be successful.  Your therapist will want to get to know you better on a variety of levels and will provide their feedback and some ideas on they can start to help you. Your therapist will do their best to answer your questions and will work with you to create a collaborate plan for feeling better. You can expect to feel heard, validated, respected, and valued.

What if I miss, need to cancel an appointment,

or am late for an appointment?

Your therapy session is reserved especially for you. We ask that you kindly give at at least 48 hours notice if you must cancel or reschedule an appointment. You can do this by calling your therapist directly and leaving a voicemail or email. Excluding medical emergencies, you are responsible for payment of the full session fee if you do not cancel within 48 hours. EMDR Intensives lasting half to full days require at least two weeks notice to avoid paying the full fee as this time is reserved in advance especially for you.

If extenuating circumstances happen and you are going to be late for your appointment, please contact your therapist right away so you can discuss it together. If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, it is considered a missed appointment, and you will still be responsible for the full session fee.

How long are sessions and how often will I meet with my therapist?

The length and frequency of your sessions is based upon your level of need, request, and in collaboration with your therapist. Some clients prefer and do well with the traditional once per week, 50 minute session, while others thrive with more intensive sessions lasting 90 minutes- 3  days in a row.

How Can I use my Out of Network Benefits?

Using your out of network benefits is easy. If you choose to use your out-of-network insurance benefits, our Care Coordinator will provide the courtesy of verifying these for you and will provide you with the documentation needed for you to submit receipts to your insurance company for reimbursement,  if this is included within your plan.
